Dolphinaris Foundation: Education.
1.-Dolphinaris Educational Program
Dolphinaris Educational Program consists in guided tours for school groups in our Dolphinaris Facilities. These tours are for elementary schools in both public and private sectors near each location. They are designed to be experiential learning visits taught by our Environmental Guides.
The program’s main goal is to promote a sense of identity, collaboration, and action toward the conservation of natural resources, mainly marine ecosystems and their inhabitants, such as dolphins, who play an important part in this educational dynamic. They are ambassadors of the ocean and as such, they help us understand the importance of taking care of their home, because in the end it is also our home.
2.- Texas A&M University
Each year students and teachers from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi visit Dolphinaris facilities to experience the program that combines both research and practice in the care of marine mammals. The program’s main focus is research and animal care, it offers students extensive training as specialist because during their stay, they work directly with the dolphins and their trainers. As a result, they have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in biology, physiology, behavior, and learn about of the conservation main issues in a more global point of view. The program helps them understand more fully about these animals and their environment.
The combination of this entire solid, daily, and continuous learning process and the experience of spending time every day with these wonderful animals, make this program without doubt a unique experience.
