Cozumel Dolphin Trainer Program

A once in a lifetime opportunity to be in close contact with the dolphins while assisting our trainers in every aspect of their work, including feeding and behavioral training techniques.

When you arrive at Dolphinaris you will be greeted by a member of our staff who will provide you with a towel, locker and snorkeling equipment for your use during your time at Dolphinaris, you will also be given your very own Dolphin Trainer T-Shirt to wear throughout your day with us and then take home with you.

Then you will be welcomed by one of our knowledgeable trainers to start your dolphin trainer program in the trainers’ office where you will learn about basic husbandry, training techniques, daily reports and medication. You’ll receive an anatomy lesson on dolphins as well as participate in a fun and informative interactive training lecture.

After that you will be taken on a “behind the scenes” tour; where you will see the laboratory, visit the “fish house” and learn how we prepare the dolphins’ diets for the day.

The third part of your program is a practical session with one of our trainers, as well as the opportunity to feed the dolphins you will also apply everything you have learned so far and ask the dolphin to do a variety of different behaviors for example kisses, vocalizations and jumps.

Next is your Dolphin swim and ride program. This is a very hands on program, allowing you to experience the true magic of these majestic mammals. Starting on a waist deep submerged platform you will be able to touch their velvety soft skin, listen to them sing and watch them play. Following this you will be able to float out into the deeper water of our natural ocean coves to swim with the dolphins and touch them as they gracefully glide pass you. After a kiss, a hug and a friendly fin shake you will receive a fantastic dolphin ride around the cove.

Following this session with your mask and snorkel, you will be guided to our snorkeling cove where you will see different forms of marine and fish life.

The final part of your program is enjoying a delicious lunch at our beautiful restaurant overlooking the Caribbean Ocean, receiving your well deserved Dolphin Trainer Certificate and the opportunity to look at all your photos that have been taken throughout your day with us at Dolphinaris.

Dolphin Time: 70 Minutes.

• All participants will receive a Dolphin Trainer Certificate, a Dolphin Trainer T-Shirt, two pictures and two complimentary drinks.

Minimum height of 4 ft required to swim un-accompanied
Minors must be accompanied by a paying adult
Expectant mothers not allowed

Our companion pass for the Dolphin Trainer Program just allow your friends and family access (until 2 people per swimmer) to Dolphinaris as observers at specify areas during the whole program. It does not include admission to the dolphin activity.
