The Best of Cancun in One Tour
Summer vacations can be difficult to plan sometimes. If your travel destination is a place like Cancun, Mexico, then you have your work cut out for you in terms of choosing what to do while you’re there. However, there are some ways to get the most out of your time in Cancun without having to plan anything yourself!
A two-day tour of Cancun can be a great “no-brainer” for those of you who just want to relax and enjoy the best of Cancun.
1- Chichen Itza
The architecture is astounding and shows off the intelligence and ingenuity of the ancient Maya, like the “calendar” built into the steps of El Castillo. If you go on the summer solstice, you can witness the “descent” of Kukulcan, the feathered serpent god whose shadow appears over the pyramid certain days of the year.
After your guided tour, you will have some time to roam around the site yourself, taking in all of the ancient energy and getting in touch with a culture that was ahead of its time. As you take time to explore the site, you will see why Chichen Itza was recently included as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
3- Dive in a cenote
A cenote is a natural water pit that is linked to a system of underground rivers and that is produced by limestone deflation. Cenotes are almost exclusive of the Yucatan Peninsula and they are related to the Mayan civilization, as they considered them as fountains of life.
The word “cenote” comes from the Mayan Word “dzenot” and it means water cavern. Some of them are open, partially opened or closed. Their surroundings are really amazing as some of them are 60 meters in diameter and are shrouded by trees, plants and other thick vegetation.
Its colorful streets are ideal to take a walk in a quiet way to discover its wonders. Among them, you can find the “Convento de San Bernardino de Siena”, “Palacio Municipal”, “Catedral de Valladolid” and some traditional distillery. Another option is “Casa de los Venados”, which is a great choice to get yourself into the local art.
Now don’t stress anymore about your visit to Cancun and check out this great tour!
